One of the biggest problems that most photographers seem to run into is the ability to let people just be themselves... To empower them and to let them feel like they are surrounded by their closest friends. If a photographer can do this, then this is when true personality can start to show.

We pride ourselves in our ability to make people feel at ease. We are all in our 20's and so are most of our clients. We grew up in Vancouver and Victoria and know the area very well. Some of us attended UVIC and Camosun and have many roots in the community as volunteers.

Latest Favorite Art Photo - Jan 20th 2007
We have one of the best jobs! We get to do what we love and capture shots like this. This is not your typical wedding photo, and just forget the subject matter for a minute and take in the colors, the falling rice, the bubbles, the happiness of the people in the background and the movement of the bride and groom.

This was shot with a D200 with the 18-200mm Nikon VR Reduction lens. This lens is amazing and lets us move in and out of our subjects very fast. This photo was taken from about 30 feet away!

Joe and Katharine's Wedding - Victoria BC
Arbutus Photography has many clients who come to Victoria From the US. We offer to meet them at the harbor where the cruise ships dock and to escort them around Victoria to the many beautiful locations in our new Volvo V70.
We met Joe and Katharine at Beacon hill park for a lovely afternoon photo shoot, and then gave them a quick tour of the ocean side drive and dropped them off at the Fairmont Empress Hotel in the inner harbor for their reception.
